Andromeda Math Partners launches with 100 students
Significant learning loss and inequities continue to be a critical problem for students from underserved communities within the San Francisco Bay Area as well as across the country. Enliven Learning Partners has joined forces with Innovate Public Schools, San Francisco Tutoring Corps and Alexander Tutoring to address learning loss in San Francisco. Our shared vision is to leverage high quality tutoring interventions at strategic inflection points to strengthen and accelerate student learning.
With this aim, we have launched the Andromeda Math Partners tutoring program delivering free one-on-one online tutoring targeting 8th and 9th grade SFUSD students. Our initial focus of Algebra targets “one of the most important indicators of a student’s future success. Students who pass Algebra 1 by the end of 9th grade open the door to advanced STEM classes and AP classes, and are more likely to enroll in college, graduate with a Bachelor’s degree, and go on to well-paid, in-demand careers. Conversely, for students who fail Algebra 1, the door to opportunity often closes. Students who don’t complete Algebra 1 have just a one in five chance of graduating from high school.”*
