Our Transformational Tutoring approach, blending skill development, metacognitive strategies, and mentoring, is generating strong results. We are extremely proud of the progress our AMP students are making, including Haniel, a recent graduate of our program, profiled in this newsletter. Especially heartening are the strong gains in math proficiency achieved by students in the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 academic year, including very positive MAP Growth test results.

Enliven’s Collaboration with Simple Interactions Generates New Insights for AMP

Enliven sponsored research study delivers valuable insights into the critical role relationships play in learning. In this study, a team of researchers from the Harvard Graduate School of Education used Simple Interactions tools to look closely at human connections during one-on-one online math tutoring sessions. Andromeda Math Partners - Impact Report Spring 2024

Andromeda Math Partner (AMP) is in its third year providing critical support to over 200 students in 7-12th grade. AMP students come from 99 schools across 20 districts in the San Francisco Bay Area. AMP tutors build positive, productive relationships with students using strengths-based strategies. In the 2023-2024 school year the median AMP student achieved growth in math proficiency at more than double the nationally normed expectation.

AMP Students Far Exceed Expectations for Math Skill Development

Based on the NWEA MAP assessments administered in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, the median Andromeda Math Partners (AMP) student achieved growth in math proficiency at more than double the nationally normed expectation. Press Release: Andromeda Math Partners delivers value for underserved students

AMP has delivered more than 5,000 hours of tutoring to over 180 students. In the 2022 to 2023 academic year, the median student tutored by the program saw their scores on the standardized math assessment known as Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) increase 25% above nationally normed expectations. The program consistently achieves parent satisfaction rates of 96% or higher as well as strong student renewal rates, most recently 92%.

Ross Stores Foundation Supports AMP

Throughout their 40-year history, Ross Stores Foundation has supported and invested in the local communities near their stores, offices, and distribution centers. After evaluating the Andromeda Math Partners (AMP) program’s reach and impact, the Ross Stores Foundation has awarded a grant to be used by AMP to continue to deliver exceptional and transformational tutoring in mathematics to underserved middle and high school students in the Bay Area. Andromeda Math Partners - Impact Report Spring 2023

Andromeda Math Partner provides critical support, starting with pre-Algebra, a key inflection point for math learning. Student empowerment continues in Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2, paving the way to high school graduation, advanced math classes, STEM majors, and career success. In the 2022-2023 school year, the median AMP student scored 25% above nationally normed expectations for growth in math proficiency.

Andromeda Math Partners - Impact Report Fall 2022

Andromeda Math Partners achieved a 92% student renewal rate from fall 2022 to spring 2023 and a 97% parent satisfaction rate. One 8th grade AMP student shared, “I got an A on my test. I’ve never gotten an A in math before!” AMP has served over 134 students, 96% of whom are from low-income families. Expanding its services to offer transformational math tutoring to 7th - 12th graders, AMP’s aim is for students to begin tutoring when students are working on Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1, and then continue tutoring with AMP through all math classes required for high school graduation.

Enliven, Innovate and Alexander Tutoring expand Andromeda Math Partners

The Andromeda Math Partners tutoring program has set ambitious growth goals for the 2022-2023 school year to grow from 100 to 200 students in spring semester 2023. Innovate Public Schools, Alexander Tutoring and Enliven Learning Partners are working closely together to optimize and scale the program. Andromeda Math Partners - Impact Report Spring 2022

The inaugural semester of Andromeda Math Partners achieved 98% parent satisfaction, serving over one hundred 8th to 10th graders across 48 public schools from January to June 2022. 75% of students registered for the ten week 2022 summer session, and 95% of families have expressed interest in registering for the 2022-2023 school year. Given the enthusiastic reception by families, AMP has broadened its goal to ensure students successfully navigate all math classes required for high school graduation, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2.

Andromeda Math Partners launches with 100 students

Significant learning loss and inequities continue to be a critical problem for students from underserved communities within the San Francisco Bay Area as well as across the country. To mitigate learning loss, the Andromeda Math Partners tutoring program delivers free, high quality, one-on-one, online Algebra tutoring to 8th and 9th grade SFUSD students.
